Miami Dolphins 2-2(2-0 Away) at Green Bay Packers 3-2(2-0 Home)
1:00 PM Lambeau Field
The Miami Dolphins take their act on the road as they look to capture a win at historic Lambeau Field this Sunday. Green Bay Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to play by the team doctor and an independent neurologist and the Packers' feel good about star rookie LB Clay Matthews hamstring. The Dolphins have three straight wins against NFC opponents. The Packers' have holes in their rush defense and Miami RBs Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams should exploit that; Green Bay's rush defense is allowing 118.3 yards a game with a 5.2 yards per carry. With the return of ILB Channing Crowder, the Dolphins should be able to create pressure on Rodgers and force him into mistakes.
My Pick: Miami Dolphins
Players to watch: MIA Ronnie Brown, Brandon Marshall, Channing Crowder
GB Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, Greg Jennings, Charles Woodson
New Orleans Saints 3-2(1-1 Away) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers #-1(1-1 Home)
1:00 PM Raymond James Stadium
The Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints head down to Raymond James Stadium to take on the Buccaneers in this pivotal NFC South battle. The Saints are 5-4 all-time at Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers stake claim to the league's premiere rookie receiver in Mike Williams, who has 19 receptions for 238 yards and 3 TDs; but a mediocre pass game and ground game is a recipe for disaster. The Buccaneers allow 143 yards a game on the ground and that could be what jump starts a non-existent Saints rush game which ranks 31st in the league.
My Pick: New Orleans Saints
Players to watch: NO Drew Brees, Marques Colston, Lance Moore
TB Mike Williams, Josh Freeman, Aqib Talib
Dallas Cowboys 1-3(1-1 Away) at Minnesota Vikings 1-3(1-1 Home)
4:15 PM Mall of America Field
Two of the NFL's most disappointing teams do battle in the Metrodome this Sunday. After storming back on Monday Night, the Vikings fell short. Brett Favre's tendinitis(elbow) is acting up but he will give it a go in this important match up on Sunday; a win could salvage the Vikings' season. Dallas does have one the league's most feared pass rush with DeMarcus Ware leading the charge with 6 of the team's 9 total sacks. Dallas averages a sack every 14 pass plays and Minnesota allows a sack just about every 14 pass plays Favre is 10-1 in the Metrodome as the Vikings starting quarterback. Randy Moss has not lost a game in which he has played against Dallas. Dallas averages 421.4 yards a game on offense and wide receiver Miles Austin already has 3 100-yard games this year. Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson has 480 yards on the ground this year, gaining 5.5 yards a carry, and he may be the difference maker in this contest.
My Pick: Minnesota Vikings
Players to watch: DAL Tony Romo, Miles Austin, Dez Bryant,
DeMarcus Ware, Anthony Spencer
MIN Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson. Randy Moss,
Percy Harvin, Jared Allen, Chad Greenway
Indianapolis Colts 3-2(1-2 Away) at Washington Redskins 3-2(2-1 Home)
8:20 PM FedEx Field
Both the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins are coming off gritty wins. The Colts will arrive at FedEx field with one of the league's top passing offenses(317.2 yards?game), and future Hall of Famer QB Peyton Manning who has passed for 1'609 yards and 11 TDs. The Redskins are allowing 298.0 yards a game through the air. The receiving tandem of WRs Reggie Wayne and Austin Collie, who both happen to have 35 or more receptions each, will present major match up issues for the Skins. To have a chance to win the Redskins will have to employ the rush game in order to the control clock and play keep away, this happens to be the Colts defensive weakness as they allow 142.2 yards a game on the ground. The have won six straight games against NFC opponents. Indianapolis hasn't missed a field goal yet this year and the game may come down to a field goal.
My Pick: Indianapolis Colts
Players to watch: IND Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie
Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis
WAS Donovan McNabb, Ryan Torain, Santana Moss
London Fletcher, D'Angelo Hall
Tennessee Titans 3-2(2-0 Away) at Jacksonville Jaguars 3-2(2-1 Home)
8:30 PM Everbank Field
AFC South supremacy is on the line on Monday night when coach Jeff Fisher leads his 3-2 Titans down to Jacksonville to take on the Jags. In their last meeting the ground game was on display and both Chris Johnson and Maurice Jones-Drew did not disappoint, combining for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns. In eight of the last nine meetings between the two franchises, the team that gained the most on the ground walked away with the win. Titans' WR Kenny Britt has a TD catch in three straight games and gives Vince Young a viable weapon. Jags' rookie KR/RB Deji Karim(36.3 yards/return) could be a deciding factor in this game, the stellar return man goes up the 28th ranked kickoff coverage team in the Titans.
My Pick: Tennessee Titans
Players to watch: TEN Vince Young, Chris Johnson, Kenny Britt
Jason Babin, Stephen Tulloch
JAC Maurice Jones-Drew, Daryl Smith, Mercedes Lewis
Rashean Mathis
